  • 16.5 Autorouting Error: SPECCTRA quit unexpectedly with an exit code of 19

Just tried very simple trial of autorouting and got: Specctra.log: ERROR: "Allegro PCB Router" command syntax. Specified product name <OrCAD_PCB_Designer_Basics> is misspelled or unsupported. Refer to the documentation for valid product names. ========================================...

  • Autorouting Using OrCAD 16.6 Demo Version

I have the demo version of OrCAD 16.6 and I'm currently reading "Complete PCB Design Using OrCAD Capture and PCB Editor" by Kraig Mitzner. I'm stuck halfway through chapter two on the part on autorouting. There doesn't appear to be an autoroute option, or I just can't find it...

  • Autorouter not routing on its 2nd Run... (16.5)

I was putting in my physical and electrical constraints on a very simple board... I performed an autoroute (the non-spectra one) within PCB editor, and it routed to completion but I didn't like some of the results of the constraints, so I deleted all vias, and then connected lines. I tagged and deleted...

  • Confused by program names, autoroute more than 6 layers, tricks (auto route)

I'm new to Cadence/OrCAD/Allegra, although I have 15+ years Eagle experience. Cadence/OrCAD/Allegra seems a big confusing mess of program names, so I don't know what is what. My company recently purchased OrCAD PCB Designer Suite 16.3, that includes OrCAD Schematic CIS and OrCAD PCB Editor. It...

  • PCB autorouter(spectraa) not converging

Hi, I am making my first pcb with a xilinx fpga device(256 pin BGA package).I am simply connecting the all I/O's to 4 standard 40 pin connectors. Are padstacks necessary for PCB routing??.I have drawn the schematic in Capture imported it to Layout_Plus and autorouted it. But after 3 hours of autorouting...

  • Autoroute option in Orcad 16.3 not available

Hello, It is probably just a license issue, anyway, in case I am missing some Allegro package or any other service pack, I assume it would be faster to post the question. I downloaded the 16.3 version (demo) from cadence and I am running an example from a tutorial to route 3 resistors, captured from...

Upto what percentage of routing does Autorouter (Allegro 16.2) cover. For example, lets say it is a fiarly complicated board, 12 layer, 800 components, 4x6 inches, with Digital, Power, Analog, and RF sections. Any sucess numbers you can share? Experts please chime in.

  • Auto-Router Unconnects

I'm attempting to auto-route a fairly large board file in Allegro PCB design/Specctra. Some parts are already routed, but there are at least 3 layers with no etch at all that the auto-router can use, as well as many other layers with only some etch on them. However, when I run the auto-router, I...
