  • methods for variable integer to string conversion

Is there any way to convert a variable of the integer type to a string. Currently i must create a set of pins with names varying from IN0 onward. I tried everything from casting the int to string with quotations to evaluating the symbol/variable then casting into a string with symbolToString. All seem...

  • Ocean script confusion: illegal duplicate field symbol in list of fields

Hi all, I run ocean script for Monte Carlo simulation. In our model file, we just have mismatch parameters (the foundry do not have process variation for Monte Carlo simulation), so in order to run Monte Carlo simulation, we use for loop structure to run Monte Carlo simulation for each corners (TT, SS...

  • Re: ROD example

By "transformer" are you talking about a layout which has overlapping or adjacent coils, such as those for an inductor? Could you use an inductor as a starting point for this? There is Solution 1809475 on SourceLink for a Spiral Inductor. Oh, while I was looking at that Solution, I noticed...

  • Re: Skill code for LSW form

Hi, There is an existing SourceLink solution 11270216 which may help with what you want to do, the solution creates a bindkey for loading a LSW Layer Set file. You could write a SKILL form to have a couple of buttons and load the appropriate file depending on which button was pressed. Is that the sort...

  • skill/ocean command to modify netlist?

Is there a skill/ocean command that will allow me to modify the netlist that gets created with the run() command? Basically I'd like to dynamically create alter statements that change the operating state of my circuit in an ocean script.

  • forking ocean scripts?

I'm trying to figure out amethod to fork a simulation from ICFB. Currently, I'm creating an ocean script that sets up the simulation in ICFB, and then spawns off an ocean session that then runs the simulation. I'm doing this to keep the simulation from hanging the ICFB session while running...

  • What is the syntax for creating pins withing SKILL

I tried accessing the documentation, but it seems to be unavailable at my university this year. I was just wondering what the syntax for creating a pin is. I think it is dbCreatePin( ) but i don't know the parameters. Also is there a way to specify what material/metal the pin is created on?

  • Re: layer coordinates

Hi, I will add a little to what Prabhakar said though it is correct that ~>?? will show you all of the attributes and their values belonging to a database object. To be explicit, the ~>points attribute will give you the coordinates of a polygonal shape, and ~>bBox can be used for a rectangular...

  • How to flatten cell in non-graph mode

I want to flatten a hierarchial layout cell. leHiFlatten() can do this in graph mode. But compared to leHiFlatten(), it is extremely slow to do this by using dbFlatInst() in non-graph mode. Is there an alternative way to flatten a database in non-graph mode? Thanks.

  • Re: Update P-Cell calculations

Hi Rodney, There is a solution for this on the Cadence online support website: Solution 11018344 Hopefully this answers your question completely. Best regards, Lawrence.
