  • Re: methods for variable integer to string conversion

Hi Lawrence, I shall appreciate if you could help me achieve the opposite, i.e. converting string to a variable. I want the vertices of a polygon to be variables with an index (say 'm') included in its name which gets updated in a 'for' loop. I'm unable to assign an integer value...

  • Re: Auto contact SKILL function

Hi Yaosan, Yes, the code just transforms the bounding box, not the shapes themselves. If I have understood your problem correctly, you are wanting to create a via at the intersection of two appropriately overlapping shapes in the layout, whether these shapes are present at level 0, or at other levels...

  • Re: Auto contact SKILL function

Hi Yaosan, First, I will assume that you are talking about version IC61x, since the menu you described was "Create Via" and not Create Contact. In IC61 (based on the Open Access database), vias are objects as opposed to instances (as they were in IC5141 and earlier), so you would use the dbCreateVia...

  • Re: Tcl programs in virtuoso

Hi Bharath, Yes, it is possible for the SKILL-based DFII session to interact with an external script or program; perhaps the easiest method is to use Inter-Process Communication. The SKILL functions for this begin with the prefix of ipc , such as ipcBeginProcess() for starting the external script or...

  • Display of schematic name and page number on the symbol

Hi, I ported a design from 6.1 to 5.1.41. The symbols in 6.1 have the following statements which are supposed to display schematic name and page number when the symbol is instantiated. dsp('sheetIndex) dsp('page) In the ported design, after instantiation, I get the following, *Error* eval: undefined...

  • Ocean Script For MonteCarlo Simulation shows incorrect results

Hi All, My script for montecarlo simulation finished successfully, no error displayed. My script uses for loop so that I can run montecarlo simulation in 5 different corners. I use monteExpr to get simulation results. The results are stored in 5 different directories. However, the results have some problem...

  • Open pCell for Edit Keeping pCell's Parameters

When opening a pcell with dbOpenCellViewByType(), the pcell's parameters are set to the default values. If the pcell is instanced in another cell, you can open that pcell with cell~>instances~>master and the pcell's shapes will reflect any changes that were made on the pcell's parameter...
