PSS

  • Centering a PAC around a PSS oscillator outcome

Hi All, I would like to run a Periodic AC analysis (PAC) at frequencies around a carrier not known a priori. That is, I have an oscillator whose frequency - of course - is to be determined by simulation. The natural way of simulating an autonomous system and get this information is with the Periodic...

  • Re: injection locked oscillator phase noise simulation using pss+pnoise

Here is the article: When simulating an injection locked oscillator and looking at the startup waveform, you are looking for the point where the timing of the oscillator output is stable with reference to the injection source. Note that the amplitude must be at steady-state as well. When you set up your...

  • Transient results as starting point in PSS

Hello, Could we use the transient analysis results as a stabilization point (tstab) for PSS analysis? If so, how could we acheive it? Is there any documentation on this? Any inputs will be helpful. Prakash.

  • Does rfTlineLib in IC616 support PSS?

mtline in IC615 does not support shooting based PSS, will this mclin components in rfTlineLib support pss shooting in ic616? Thanks!

  • Unable to run PSS Analysis

Sir, I have used BSIM-CMG107.0.0 Mosfet Compact model for my thesis work. But when I go for pss analysis, an error is shown saying that the behavioural file that you have given is not supported for pss analysis. The model is actually a verilog-A file. It would be grateful if you give me any solution...

  • Re: pss insufficient memory problem

Hi, 1. Yes, MMSIM10.1 and 12.1.X are a lot different. Better yet, go to 13.1. 2. That is not what I was asking for. In the netlist, there is a "save" statement. It will tell how many nodes and nets are saved. If you "save all" (for example), that can cause issues. Saving only selected...

  • Re: pss insufficient memory problem

For questions like this, it is better to file a Case with Customer Support . Your versions of spectre are very old. You should be using MMSIM 12.1.1 or better yet MMSIM 13.1 . You didn't mention how many nets/nodes that you were saving. Only save the most important ones. It is helpful to see the...

  • pss insufficient memory problem

Dear Team, I am using virtuoso 6.1.5 version running pss, errors are found in the CDS.log window, sayin:"INFO (ADE-3069): Errors encountered during simulation. For more information, see the log files accessible from the Simulation -> Output Log menu." But the spectre.out file shows "onv...

  • RF Front end Receiver

Hi, We are designing a RF Front end receiver in which we are proceeding with a PSS, PAC, etc analyses..... 1. We have plotted Conversion Gain Vs LO power by doing PSS followed by PAC analyses. So, can we plot the same CG by varying RF. 2. Can we plot Noise Figure Vs RF frequency. Please, get me the valuable...

  • Phase noise of frequency multiplier

Hi! I am trying to simulate a frequency multiplier. The oscillators are simple ring oscillators oscillating at 2GHz made form inverters. What the multiplier circuit is that it cancels the fundamental tone and retains/preservs the 3rd harmonic(3,6,9...) and cancels the other harmoics like 1,2,4,5........
