  • What's Good About Cadence Online Support Product Pages? – Check Out This List!

I wrote about the new Cadence Online Support features in one of my blog posts last year. One of our Silicon Package Board (SPB) Customer Support AEs suggested that I include the Cadence Online Support Product Page URL whenever I write about a specific product’s feature. I will be doing that --...

  • PCB autorouter(spectraa) not converging

Hi, I am making my first pcb with a xilinx fpga device(256 pin BGA package).I am simply connecting the all I/O's to 4 standard 40 pin connectors. Are padstacks necessary for PCB routing??.I have drawn the schematic in Capture imported it to Layout_Plus and autorouted it. But after 3 hours of autorouting...

  • mismatch connection after importing netlist

Hello! This happened more than once. I imported a netlist with a connection from point A to point B. However when I looked at the board that connection is no longer there. Both point A and B were NC pins. I checked the netlist and it looked correct, the connection was there and there was also a net...

  • back annotate from allegro(pcb) to orcad(schematic)

Hi all, can I back annotate net from allegro(ver16.0) brd file to orcad schematic. I have a connector in layout which I can rout as "best rout" but it is very difficult and lengthy process to rout in pcb and then assign ports in schematic manually. Before allegro we use Pcad. In Pcad we can...

  • Re: Part Developer Symbol Editor will not display grid.

Okay, I "think" I've figured out some of these things. My environment variables were set correctly, but the program still would "see" the footprint. I had to type in the footprint within parenthesis in the "Alt Footprint" box to get my footprint into the Part Developer...

  • Part Developer Symbol Editor will not display grid.

Two main questions in this post: How do I get the symbol grid to display in Part Developer? How do I attach my own custom PCB footprint to schematic symbol? I'm using Cadence 15.2 and I am in the Allegro PCB Design HDL 220 : Part Developer. All the tutorials and PDF's I've been reading show...

  • Design Entry CIS with PCB Editor

It seems that the default footprints that are defined in the Design Entry libraries are not compatable with PCB Editor, is there a quick and easy fix for this?

  • Display a custom property on a symbol?

Is there any way to get a custom property to display as say silkscreen on a symbol in Allegro by passing it from OrCAD? I know how to pass custom properties and I can view them with "Show Element" but I'd like to place some in-house properties on my symbols and have them show up on a layer...
