  • Viewing Monte Carlo results having run spectre and viva standalone

I have run montecarlo in spectre (13.1) standalone (from a netlist). Then I attempted to view the results in viva (6.1.6) also standalone. Viva sees the nominal and last iteration for all signals but not the other iterations (20 total). All of the expected montecarlo files appear to be in the .raw directory...

  • Complex Monte Carlo simulation

Hi everyone, I'm quite new to PSPICE and specific to Monte Carlo(MC) simulation. When follow the MC examples in UG, I can ony use simple output variable such as V or I of a node, but now I want the output variable be more complex such as impedance of a circuit so I key in V/I but PSPICE raises error...

  • Monte Carlo Simulation Failure

Hello, I have been attempting to run monte carlo simulation using ADE-XL but spectre keeps throwing me errors. Please see below: The error states "unknown paramter 'sigma' found . . . " . Examining the MC scs file the sigma parameter is present but not defined anywhere. Common sense...

  • Exporting Monte Carlo Simulation

I'm trying to run monte carlo simulations (5000+ runs) and it's really slow at plotting the output. Instead, I would like to export this to a csv file without plotting. Is there a way to do this? I want to save one of the 'output' that I setup in ADE.

  • Mismatch Contribution Analysis in Virtuoso Analog Design Environment GXL

When Monte Carlo analysis shows device mismatch variation has become problematic, Virtuoso Analog Design Environment (ADE) GXL Mismatch Contribution Analysis can provide useful diagnostics as a next step. Mismatch Contribution helps in identifying the most important contributors to the variance of the...

  • Fast Yield Analysis and Statistical Corners

The Virtuoso Analog Design Environment XL Monte Carlo sampling methods are Random, Latin Hypercube, and Low Discrepancy Sequence. More accurately, Spectre provides the engine and ADE XL interfaces with the simulator to complete the Monte Carlo analysis task. Random is the standard random sampling method...

  • Re: Monte Carlo - Virtuoso IC 6.1.5

Hi Andrew... i need some clarification regarding "seeds".. so it will be helpful if i set some value to the seeds field and run the monte carlo analysis for small number of iterations.. for example.. i set seeds = 2 and run 200 iterations. then i set seeds = 3 and run 100 iterations... it means...

  • Monte Carlo - Virtuoso IC 6.1.5

Hi, In monte carlo analysis, what is the need for the "monte carlo seeds" field. Is there any result variation for the different number of seeds.. Thanks.

  • Multiple variable MonteCarlo simulation in OCEAN

Hello, I've been wondering, is there any way of doing multiple variable Monte Carlo simulations using OCEAN programming language? Monte Carlo simulations from ADE provide only a singe parameter to be swept, but what about several? Is that even possible? My guess is that it might be impossible due...
