AMS virtuoso simulation

  • OCEAN script generated for AMS + APS simulation

Hi all, I was recently working on a mixed-singal simulation with AMS. To speed up the simulation, in ADE, I chose simulation performance mode as "APS", and manually chose 8 threads. In ADE, everything goes well, 8 cpu cores were brought up for the simulation, the simulation finished quite soon...

  • Force ams netlister to skip ports/pins

Hello, Andrew! I want to skip several ports of the symbol during schematic netlisting for ams simulation. How can I do it? (As far as know there is a kind of property to be added to the pin) Netlister revision: // AMS netlist generated by the OSS based AMS netlister // IC subversion: IC6.1.5-64b.500...

  • Re: Plotting through calculator

HI, Thank you for the faster reply once again. What I have been doing in my design is just sweeping the gate voltage of an nmos transistor(65 nm cmos process), while keeping the transistor in saturation. The problem I have faced while doing experiment is that I was not able to plot the output using calculator...

  • ERROR (VACOMP-1008): Cannot compile ahdlcmi module library when I practice the AMSKIT615 package.

I got this error when I was practicing Cadence AMS Methodology kit (05B_AnalogBlockDesignOptimization) using IC6.1.5. My OS is Unix 32-bit. "ERROR (ADEXL-5011): While simulating run LocalOpt.1, point 48, test freq_low, received error: Simulation Error: ------------------------------ Simulator failed...

  • Phase noise plot

Hi, I have been doing a Pnoise analysis . Unfortunately I was unable to plot the phase noise response. My design was setup was described below. My apparatus was a PLL with a fixed divider ratio of 20 and output frequency of 500Mz In PSS analysis I have set the beat frequency as reference frequency ie...

  • Pnoise analysis

Hi, I have been doing a pnoise analysis for a PLL . Looking into the Pnoise simulation profile I have found a tab regarding thevalue for " Reference sideband" .What is the value that I should put while my "Maximum number of sidebands =7". With Regards, Jithin K

  • AMS Simulator support for SystemVerilog Math Functions

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to enable support for the math functions in SystemVerilog (such as $sin) in the AMS simulator. When I try to run a systemverilog file including $sin built-in function in IEEE 1800-2009, I get the following error: sjit = AMP_NOISE*($sin($realtime*2*PI/TNOISE)); Unrecognized...

  • AMS simulator error

Hi, I'm using CADENCE Virtuoso ADE 6.1.3 for mixed simulation. I have to simulate schematic block which is driven by digital pins (clk, rst, ...). I set up a config view using AMS simulator and when I run a simulation I got the following error message in my irun.log : Elaborating the design hierarchy...

  • AMS rolling back to the older version of ultrasim

I am seeing some strange behavior from the AMS simulator. I have changed the MMSIM version to 11.10 to use the most updated ultrasim simulator for multithread simulation. All the environment variables have been updated accordingly. However, when I try to simulate something the log files show that the...

  • how to avoid recompiling ahdlcmi?

Hello, I'm running ams simulations under ncsim and every time I reinvoke the simulator the ahdlcmi module libraries are recompiled. Is there a way to prevent this to happen? In other words, can we use pre-compiled ahdlcmi module libraries, instead? Thanks,
