  • Re: How to Read a text file as Text Type
I found the problem. The  text file had some empty lines at the end. Yes, I have to put a check for that.  Thanks for Your help Dave!

    That worked good except it seems to not exit gracefully from the While loop: Skill > Read_String 775   640   N74011018 5045   570   N74011128 5175   1015   GND 55   1310   GND_EARTH 650   140   VOUT 500   140   ...

  • How to Read a text file as Text Type
I am having trouble reading a text file and having it stay as text. I guess skill expects every text item to be quoted. Is there a way I can read it as text? second choice: can I split each line into an Array? sample_infile.il 775 640 N74011018 TP30CIR_TOP Top 5045 570 N74011128 TP30CIR_TOP Top 5175 1015 GND TP30CIR_TOP Top 55 1310 GND_EARTH ...

  • Making a "Chip on Board" symbol
On what layer do I put the Component Bonding Pads. It can't be a copper layer because you don't want those pads on the board. The copper underneath these components will be all Ground Net. I still need a pin with ratsnest so I can position the Board Bond Pad. I think a higher version of Allegro would handle this, but that is more $$

  • Re: RE: Highlight location xy in rpt file
Hi Pawandeep  You are right, the problem is the lack of highlighting in a user report. I should have read Luan's post more closely. I also would like to find out if it's possible to do. Geoff

Hi Luan I think you want to put a permanent highlight color on certain vias, and after you have fixed each one, the program would change the color. In that way you could see the vias you have fixed.  Unfortunately Allegro doesn't let you put a permanent highlight on vias. I wish it ...

  • Using previously selected objects in skill
I hope this is possible. I would like to select some vias ( or other objects) first, and then run a skill program that goes through the selection set and extracts xy locations, properties, etc.  The problem is that as soon as the program is run, everything is deselected. Can anybody help?
