  • Re: human ordering sorting challenge for skill
Hi Olivier Thank you for your input on this, I got some code from a long time friend that I've been able to convert into something that can be used. I'll try your method to figure out if that works better for me. I'll however need to check for length since any length text must be after numbers, so "aa" will be after any ...

  • Re: Opening a text file in Allegro
Hi If you write data to a file in the format (x,y) and open it in the html viewer it will automatically be a hyperlink Example   fprintf(filehandle "Component located at (%f,%f)\n" xcoordinate ycoordinate) where both xcoordinate and ycoordinate are floating point numbers.   Best regards Ole

Hi Dave Thank you very much, I can see your point about sort Not sure how I'll fix that but thanks for your code, the first challenge that I did not really see how to solve was the chunkify function, but that works nicely, so now I need to figure out how to do a sort that acts they way I need it to work :-) Best regards Ole

  • human ordering sorting challenge for skill
Hi  I've numerous times come across the issue of sorting strings in a more "human way of thinking fashion"  I've played around with the different sorting predicates like 'lessp, 'alphaNumCmp, 'axlStrcmpAlpNum but none are really sorting in the way I would need. I had hoped the 'axlStrcmpAlpNum would do ...

  • Re: How to deal with backslash"\" in Skill Code
Hi In the past I've created batch (.bat/.cmd) files and executed them using system instead. If you create the .bat file in a known location like currentWorkingDir then you know where to execute it from. To circumvent unc paths you can use info on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pushd_and_popd to create temp drives. Depending on what ...

  • Re: How to change sym extents for axlDBCreateSymDefSkeleton
Hi Dave Thanks, this also confirms what I've found, I'll just have to think about calculating the extents, since placing significantly large symbols into a drawing has an impact on the size of the board. So far it seems like the symbol dissapear from the .brd file when I crate a new symbol skeleton unless I use axlDBCreateSymbol and ...

  • How to change sym extents for axlDBCreateSymDefSkeleton
Hi I'm using axlDBCreateSymDefSkeleton to generate some symbols from text files, the problem here is that I need to feed the symextents as a parameter. I'm not dumping the libraries, but still would like to minimize the symextents after the symbol is created. Anyone with an idea about how this can be done? axlDBChangeDesignExtents ...

  • Re: RE: XML Parser
Hi Dave Great, thanks for this. I'll see if I can make use of it although its going to be used for something that's not generated by Allegro. Have a great day Cheers Ole

  • Re: getting extend of visible objects
Hi Thank you for the suggestion, I did look into this, the problem here being that axlZoomToDbid will only work for 20 or less dbids according to the documentation, which is the reason for not doing what you suggest, otherwise that would be the best way to get the extents.   Best regards Ole
