  • Re: OrCad Layout on Windows 7 ?
I actually now have 16.2 running on Win7. Works fine for minor design tweaks and review but there's a periodic delay in the UI that hampers primary design efforts. An XP VM is certainly the best option; I have older OrCad tools running on a full install of XP Pro in Virtualbox.

  • CIS Spreadsheet - Additional Unwanted Fields
I set up CIS using a spreadsheet with component families organized in separate tabs. Within CIS some of the component families have a number of undefined fields added to the CIS listing: F9, F10, F11 etc. Any ideas what is causing this? I seem to recall a document describing specifics of the spreadsheet requirements but can't locate this. ...

  • Re: Steps for Back Annotating Resequenced Refdes to CIS
From Cadence support: In your project directory you should have the schematic design’s opj and dsn schematic files and an allegro directory.  In this Allegro directory you need to have the board file, the original pstxnet.dat, pstxprt.dat, pstchip.dat netlist files, and the compview.dat, funcview.dat, pinview.dat, and netview.dat ...

  • OrCad PCB Designer Professional SI Documentation
Can anyone point me to the OrCad PCB Designer Professional SI Documentation or a tutorial? I am quite familiar with the tools from the higher version Allegro suites but the naming of the tools and their organization appears to have changed within PCB Designer Professional.

  • Re: Steps for Back Annotating Resequenced Refdes to CIS
My problem was the pcb and schematic were in separate folders. The Cadence tools require all files to be in 1 big folder in order to facilitate the back annotation process.
