• How to capture minimum spacing?
I need to find the absolute minimum spacing defined in the Constraint Manager. This includes the CSets and any number manually entered in the CM, Region rules, Class/Class, etc.  I see the function axlCNSGetSpacing will retrieve the values of your various CSets, but smaller numbers can be manually entered (i.e. not defined by a CSet) or set ...

• Re: how do you extract the holes dimension for oblong holes in skill
There is an enhancement request in for this (CCR ID 587454). It should be available in 16.2 As a work around I use the drillFigureWidth and drillFigureHeight attributes of the pin definition. Cheers, Dave
So whatever became of this request? I don't see anything new in 16.2 (or 16.3 for that ...

• Re: If statements in env file?
Thanks. I was able to get 'ifnvar' to work ('ifvar' didn't for some reason). Not the most elegant solution, but it works.   On a related note: Does anyone know where the "menuload" variable gets set? I tried to overwrite that to no avail.

• If statements in env file?
Can I have an "if" statement inside my local env file? What is the syntax? I looked around and found the "ifnvar" statement referenced somewhere, but I cannot get it to work.  I'd like to switch on the "cdsversion" variable (i.e. load a different menu depending on the release).   Thanks, Doug

• Re: DBIDs and 16.2
All the code has been rewritten, that's not the problem. The issue is that our SKILL programs are not backward compatible. I'm really surprised that this hasn't come up before. I'm usually way behind the curve.  Here's what Cadence themselves had to say about it:*Problem: My SKILL code that worked in previous releases ...

• DBIDs and 16.2
Hi guys, I'm having some issues with our migration to 16.2. I've got several SKILL programs that will query the database and select a group of DBIDs. The new version seems to be refreshing the DBIDs at will for no reason whatsoever. For example: 1. Get a list of all the DBIDs for all DRC violations. 2. Populate a form with info ...

• Re: axlDBCreatePath
Thanks fxfffxf. That makes sense. I'll add that vias can accept netname arguments when they are added in SKILL. I've got a little program that allows you to touch a via first and then a pin/shape/line and the via will take on the net of the other object. It's great when your vias get confused and change nets. I was hoping to do the ...

• Re: axlDBCreatePath
Craig, I'm sorry, but this does not work in Allegro 15.7. If the endpoints of the cline do not touch another net, the line is added as a dummy (not on a net). If the endpoints of the line do touch another net, is adopts that net, regardless of what you specify in your arguments to the function. Do you see it working properly in APD (I'm ...

• axlDBCreatePath
Hi, Maybe I'm mildly retarded, but I'm sure having problems grasping the functionality of axlDBCreatePath as far as how it treats the net names. Obviously, there are arguments to the function to assign the net name to the path definition, but it doesn't work. Then, I find in the documentation that unless the new path touches an ...
