Thanks a lot Shawn. It was helpful.

  • Re: RMS jitter from eye diagram
HI Shawn/Andrew   So, I used the abs_jitter function to find the RMS jitter. I got a reasonable value, but I am wondering, what if I use period_jitter function in the calculator. I know there is a difference in so called 'period jitter' and 'TIE' jitter measurement, but I am not sure which one to use when and which ...

First off - thanks both you guys for replying! I truly believe this is best and very helpful forum/source. Back to the topic - yes, I am trying to find the Jitter of a periodic signal. I will try to use the methods suggested above and am sure I will get my answer. Thanks once again.. 34892

  • RMS jitter from eye diagram
Hi, I am trying to find RMS jitter of the clock coming out of my ADC ( in post layout sim). I can plot eye diagram, but am not sure how to get the RMS value of jitter. Is there a way (may be using calculator or otherwise) to get the RMS value? I think the eye diagram gives the peak-peak value of jitter.(posting again, as the pervious post was ...

  • ViVA bus plot to full view plot
Hi,  I am new to Cadance ViVA and wanted some help. After simulating my ADC (which has some verilogA models and some transistor level blocks), I plotted the clock signal to check for jitter (via Eye diagram). But the plot looks like a plot of 'bus' signal/digital signal instead of full view analog signal. Although when I plot the ...
