  • OCEAN/SKILL XML database
Hello cadence community,   just wondering, is there any way of getting an XML database containing all (or maybe most widely used) OCEAN/SKILL functions? Maybe such databases are present in cadence install directory?   I have created such for OCEAN language but included only the most popular procedures (in my use) and some SKILL ...

  • Re: SKILL commands on clearing CIW history
Andrew,  this is clear as a whistle. I assumed that ADE is equivalent to OCEAN, but questioned that to make sure.   Thanks again for the explanations and the effort.   Regards, Aleksandr

  • Re: SKILL commands on clearing CIW history
Andrew,   Now I'm a bit confused. You are saying that IC5141 simulations are not able to do calculations on 64 bit basis either way - from ADE (enabling this option via setup->environment->run with 64 bit binary) and OCEAN? Or is this true only for OCEAN?   Regards, Aleksandr

  • Re: SKILL commands on clearing CIW history
Hello, Andrew,   Thanks for the suggestion.    I'm running calculations in 64 bit mode for reasons of larger memory capabilities. And in this particular script an STB analysis is active and no waveforms are plotted - only phase and gain margins are sent to log.   Therefore I will try to call gc() as you ...

  • SKILL commands on clearing CIW history
Hello cadence community,   I've have a question - is there any way (via SKILL commands) to clean the history (and even better - clear the cache and oher CIW inner memory cells as if you would start from scratch) in the main CIW window?   Now, explaining what I mean by the word "cleaning" and why I need it. ...

  • Re: Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) simulation problem in IC615
Hello, Tawna,   I'm using  the following MMSIM and Virtuoso versions: virtuoso version 6.1.5-64b virtuoso sub-version  IC6.1.5-64b.500.4 spectre sub-version  12.1.0.317.isr2 And apologies for the non attached schematic in the original post. It should be visible now.   Regards, Aleksandr.

  • Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) simulation problem in IC615
Hello, cadence community, I've stumbled upon a problem with power amplifier EVM evaluation - EVM is out of adequate bounds. At first I thought that the PA is faulty, but then I decided to create a simple DUT circuit - a resistor. This way the magnitude will decrease while the phase should stay the same. I've attached the schematic ...

  • Installing and setting up PVS10.1.2 on IC6.15
Hello cadence community, I've been having problems setting the physical verification tool PVS10.1.2 on IC6.15.I've installed the tool but it doesn't seem to load properly. After launching Layout Suite L -> launch -> PVS a dropdown menu appears in the main layout window, but only "About PVS" is present in that menu. I ...

  • Virtuoso Visualization and Analysis XL
Hello, cadence community, I would like to leave feedback about  "Virtuoso Visualization and Analysis XL" in Cadence 6.15. Please, in further releases redesign this tool (or bring back the good old IC5.xx visualisation tool) for these reasons:OCEAN command fail to work with this tool. I'll name several: ...
  • LSSP simulation using OCEAN scripts
Hello, I'm trying to simulate large signal S-parameters (LSSP) in Cadence 6.15 and cannot seem to generate a working OCEAN script from the ADE. I get a warning that no results are available for LSSP calculations:  WARNING(OCN-6038: results sweephblssp2_fd-sweep are not available... Tried adding a  ocnWriteLsspToFile command ...
