  • Step models for PCB footprints
Hello We are considering adding 3D step models to our PCB footprints. Where does one find these 3D models in order to do this? I found a place on the web that has 3D models for download but they have a different file extension than .stp. • Viewing pcb footprint in schematic capture
Hi This was working sometime back. We have had several updates and hotfixes and something now is not allowing me to view the footprints. Anybody else having this issue and if you did, how did you fix it? Thanks, Carvey

  • RE: Capture schematic footprint viewer
Thanks for the reply. The .dra and associated psm .. files are in the correct directory. I did add the first Dir0… I also replaced the space with a under bar. None of this helped. I guess I’ll have to call our reseller tech support for help. Thanks Carvey Ready PCB Designer III Lester Electrical of Nebraska, Inc.

  • RE: Locate a component by its reference on PCB - possible ?
I don’t know of any special setting for this. When I select the FIND icon and select SYMBOL and select a reference designator the program zooms into the selected component and also highlights it as well. I suggest you contact Cadence support or your reseller for help. Carvey Ready PCB Designer III Lester Electrical of Nebraska, Inc.

Using 16.5 revision. When I select find, symbols, find by name, r111 (example). It zooms into the area and highlights the symbol and reference desiginator.

  • Padstacks
Hi Up to now all our designs have been 2 layer, with our interlayer padstack undefined for thru hole parts and vias. We are considering doing a 4 layer or perhaps a 6 layer design. Do I need to create a seperate padstack for each number of layers? Then the question becomes do I still need to keep the orginal padstacks for any new 2 layer ...
