  • identify long min width custom layout routes
Hi there, i am looking to write a Skill procedure to identify long logic routes with high Resistance. Purpose: to find nets that are too long and un-buffered. In our current process we know that min width routes over X microns distance will become succeptable to signal integrity issues. Here are some things to note or that i have been thinking ...

  • Re: envSetVal "labelHeight" (IC6) from .cdsinit
Hi guys, i should point out i had a typo in my .cdsinit testing, i was printing the same variable twice, it should have read:     ;; TEST     labelSizeOne=envGetVal( "layout" "labelHeight" )     printf("label height one is:%L\n" labelSizeOne)     ;;END ...

  • Re: envSetVal "labelHeight" (IC6) from .cdsinit
Hi Derek, i have been trying to put all my settings in the one file, infact at this time i do not have a .cdsenv at all (i use envSetVal in the .cdsinit for all my environment variable settings). Is this bad practice? Hi Andrew, if it makes any difference, i am on: IC614-ISR11 Thanks guys Stu

Hi, i just inserted some more testing before and after i load this, so this is now in my .cdsinit:     ;; TEST     labelSizeOne=envGetVal( "layout" "labelHeight" )     printf("label height one is:%L\n" labelSizeOne)     ;;END TEST envSetVal( ...

  • envSetVal "labelHeight" (IC6) from .cdsinit
hi guys, i can do the following in my ciw/virtuoso window: envSetVal( "layout" "labelHeight" 'float 0.05 ) and using envGetVal it seems to have worked ok. However when i add the same line to my .cdsinit andstart a new cadence session it does not sseem to have any effect. I'm sure my .cdsinit is being loaded ...

  • RE: where is the multipart path begin/End OffSet parameter held?
Hi Andrew, yes this gave us some issues in our PDK migration. Eventually we decided instead delete the old MPP (grabbing its data first) and re-drew a new one. Thanks Stu

  • Re: A summary of via types in my layout hierarchy
Hi guys, do you mind if i enquire further regarding hierachy traversal. I have been trying to use the ccpExpandDesign for this:   skipLibs=list("analogLib" "basic" ) reflibs=gdmCreateSpecList()     foreach( refLib skipLibs       gdmAddSpecToSpecList(gdmCreateSpec(refLib ...

  • where is the multipart path begin/End OffSet parameter held?
Hi guys, i cannot find the begin/end offset data for the subParts of my multipart path with skill, if i do: my_rod=car(rodGetNamedShapes(cv)) my_rod~>subParts~>?? I see: (("rodMPPSubpart:403185768" name "subpart1" type "rectangle"  layer "OD" purpose "drawing" ...

  • Re: layout shape migration
Hi guys, thanks for the advice so far. I agree my skill code is inefficent & i'll tidy it up. I have heard from one guy who says he has known a list of 8 million elements. I tried an experiment putting a dbSave in my foreach so in effect it would save EVERY time it went round the loop, very inefficient i know. However, it did run ...

  • layout shape migration
Hi All, i've written a simple script that grabs all shapes and changes the layerName and purpose as required (to map from one PDK to another). It works fine on small test cells. However i tried it out on a larger layout that has 52000 shapes (MPP's guard rings, looks llike each contact is a shape) & cadence crashes complaining of memory ...
