  • Re: How to design PCB Footprint for SMD Transistor
Besides pulling the appropriate datasheet, you might also consult the IPC-782, which shows all sorts of footprints. As you will find out, footprints can (will) differ between manufacturers. The IPC document will give you a great starting point. This is a good time to build your library of pad stacks as well. Give them a common sense name(e.g ...

  • Re: mechanical alignment hole not showing properly in 16.5 PCB Editor (look ok in 3D view)
Try this out. It sometimes slips peoples mind. Go to Setup-->Design Parameters Editor and see if you have "Display Non-Plated Holes" selected HTH Ron Scott

  • Re: How to delete numbers when place a new component/mounting hole
An even quicker solution is to delete the associated text and it becomes a mechanical feature. HTH Ron

  • Drill legend going nuts
All, When running a standard drill legend, I have one drill that says i have four of instead of two. I deleted one from the board, ran another drill legend and it reported I had two rather than one. I deleted the remaining hole, ran the legend again, no hole. Put the holes back and it reported the original four. Checked the padstack for any ...

  • Re: I need a footprint
Hi, Having worked at TI for 13 years, TI has it's own system to naming packages. For example, DVR . The rest of the world calls this a SOT-23. To help you out, TI usually provides footprints in several tools (Cadence, Mentor), just look carefully through the marketing information that comes with datasheet, HTH Ron

  • Re: CIS to Database Integration
Thanks for the input. I figured out what was going on. Tech support was not so helpful. What started me off on the right path was a comment made on the Microsoft forum that data was stored like" pearls on a string". I had done an experiment where I used a single part and it was retrieved with great speed. The most relevant clue was the ...

  • CIS to Database Integration
ALL, I have a problem that is getting worse by the day. I'm using Capture CIS 16.5 and use Microsoft Access as my database. I'll open the schematic capture and the "place database part" resulting in a inordinate amount of time before the database opens. This morning it took me over nine minutes to get into the database. I've ...

  • Layer to Layer Registration
I need to clarify my fab notes and I need to know specifically which IPC document talks about layer to layer registration. I've been through the 6011 & 6012 Thanks.

This is not an advertising forum. It is a place that designers exchange knowledge and help others. I would ask the moderators remove this post immediately.
