  • Re: Auto-create an ADE state, howto?
Hi Andrew, I meant about the default 'name' a session picks. I expect it to save with the same name when no 'name' parameter is passed. e.g: se4 = asiGetCurrentSession() se4->name spectre6   So, 'spectre6' is the expected state to be saved.   Best Regards, Ganesh

  • Re: Auto-create an ADE state, howto?
Hi Andrew,   Your guess was partly correct. The API needed 'name' parameter. After passing a name for the state to save, i.e asiSaveState(so2 ?name "spectre_custom_state"), a proper ADE session state could be saved.   However, the interesting question is why does it seek 'name' as argument while the ...

  • Re: Auto-create an ADE state, howto?
Hi Andrew, Thanks for the reply. I tried the below two methods to save state and my inferences are as below: Schematic and ADE are open. Both were opened manually. Method 1: sevS = hiGetCurrentWindow()->sevSession // Obtain ADE's o_session sevSo1 = sevEnvironment(sevS) //Add a new ...

  • Re: Retrieving variable value from variable handle (axl.*)
Sorry Andrew, I immediately realized that the view being opened was "schematic" whereas it should be "adexl". Regards, Ganesh

    Hi Andrew, Below is the error I obtain after executing ---------------- data_session = ( axlCreateSession "data_session" ) sdb=axlSetMainSetupDBLCV(data_session "ALL_PRIMITIVES" "ALL_PRIMITIVES_TB_TB" "schematic") *Error* ddGetObjWritePath: argument #1 should be a ddUserType (type template = ...

  • Auto-create an ADE state, howto?
Hi All, In a flow that I am working at, an ADE session state needs to be created automatically after a testbench schematic is created. An ADE state is desired to have analysis, design-variable-values and signals-to-be-saved in it.I am thinking of below two approaches: Approach 1: Without user-intervention Having known the format of ADE state ( ...

  • Re: .altergroup usage question
Hi All, I figured out solution to my problem although, it wasn't achievable via altergroup since Spectre-Altergroup( current latest revision as of this writing) doesn't natively support netlist topology modifications. Below were two solutions: 1)  Refer to the link to replicate the suggested ...

    Hi All, I want to use altergroup in the below scenario of a spectre netlist. ------------------------------------------------------------ <netlist_section> ... I1 (a1) MyCell1 I0 (a1 0 0 0 0 0) MyCell2 tran1 tran stop=10n write="spectre.ic" writefinal="spectre.fc" \     annotate=status ...

  • Re: Custom Netlisting in ADE
Yes SharksFan, Andrew, When I meant 'simulatable design', I meant it as a design that could be simulatable from ADE, dumping 'input.scs' in the netlist directory etc. To elaborate more on my question, I would want to have a file similar to 'input.scs' where 'control/stimulus' statements are absent. A kind of ( ...
