  • Re: Exporting .gds file from cadence
I did follow the steps listed in the manual. I could generate the gds file without any errors but when I open that file it looks very weired . This is how my log file file looks like ******************************************************************************* Product   : Virtuoso(R) XStream Out Program   : @(#)$CDS: ...

  • Exporting .gds file from cadence
Hi All I want to export .gds file from cadence 6.1 and import it to HFSS 10 and do some simulations. Just to make sure my gds file is ok I did import it back to cadence and I do see the same layout. But when I import the same gds file in HFSS 10,I dont see anything. I am not sure what is the problem. When I look at my gds file its not ...

  • IBM45nm (SOI ) technology Gate resistance problem
Hi All  I am using IBM45nm (SOI) technology provided by MOSIS for designing RF circuits. I used cadence 6.1 to carry out some simulations. When I do typical DC simulation and print the oprating points I do not see the value for gate resistance . Why is this happning? is there no gate resistance in SOI technology? (I checked the BSIMSOI ...

  • Re: RE: RE: Optimization of Matching Network in Cadence
HI Tawna  Again thanks for the reply. I thought that it should be simple to run RF optmization on GXL but could not figure it out. There might some small thing I doing wrong. It would be great if I can get some kind of tutorial from cadence. I will post the request on the site you mentioned but it looks like I need to know some licence ...

  • Re: RE: Optimization of Matching Network in Cadence
Hi Tawna   Thanks for the reply. I know how to do .sp analysis with ADE XL. I was trying to use optimization in ADE GXL (local and global) to tune the values of L and C in L matching network. I could run the simulation with out errors but GXL did not give me optimized values. I searched the GXL documentation and found out the ...

  • Optimization of Matching Network in Cadence
Hi All As a part of understanding how to optimize matching networks in cadence I am designing a matching network to match 10 ohm load to 50 ohms source at 6Ghz. I am using simple L matching network and I know all the equations required. I come up with the required values of L and C. Simulation shows real part of input impedance to be 50 ohms ...
