  • Re: Device positions from Assura LVS?
I found a solution myself. Actually two solutions. They can be found on the support page as Solution 11547560 ("Can Assura output the layout's lower-left and upper-right (X,Y) bounding box coordinates to a file?") and Solution 11572898 ("How do I output the XY coordinates of layout devices in Assura ...

  • Device positions from Assura LVS?
Hi. Does Assura LVS output the position (or bbox) of matched devices? I was hoping to find it in the layout netlist, but only a couple of parameters such as length and width are present. I would appreciate your help. Thanks.   Chris

  • Power as input for behavioural source in a transient Spectre simulation
Hi there. During a transient simulation in Spectre, I would like convert the device power to a voltage signal. I tried using a behavioural source as follows:E1 (1 0) bsource v="M1:pwr"Unfortunately, this gets me the error message: Unexpected ternary operator ":" Is there a way to achieve what I am trying to do? Thanks, ...

  • Re: Changing instance model by alter statement
Thanks, I might ask there. Another problem I ran into: I would like to parametrise a model, so I created an inline subcircuit containing only a model statement as described in the manual. Then I instantiate the model subcircuit and use the instantiated model for my device as follows:    inline subckt new_model_subckt   ...

  • Changing instance model by alter statement
For a corner simulation, I would like to change the model name of a single instance. I can easily be done using SKILL, but I would like to use the Spectre alter statement for that. Is there a way to do it? Maybe something like that ... alter1 dev=M0 param=model value=new_model_name   - Chris

  • Default view name for a custom cellview
In order to create a custom cellview, I followed an example by Andrew which installed the "abSpectreNetlist" cellview (found somewhere on the internet, not to be found in this forum). The example works alright. However, when creating a new cellview of that type (go CIW, File -> New -> Cellview), I'd like to have a default ...

  • Re: Altering model parameter of single instance
Is it possible to have a model alias for a model from a model group? Suppose there this group model_group. Writin   model tox_model model_group tox=3.141 I get the cryptic error message "It is illegal for model tox_model which based on model group model_group". Next I tried to pick a model from the group by writing   model ...

  • Re: Adding menu entries to ADE L window
I'm feeling a bit uneasy about the menu file solution. What happens if there are other parties manipulating the menu file, especially when distribution the solution to a customer. I'm afraid this may clash somehow. Especially since the menu is not just added to the end, but the whole list of menu entries is specified literally. Isn't ...

  • Re: Adding menu entries to ADE L window
I knew about the menu files. However, I wasn't really sure about which of the two is the cleaner way. Will go for the menu file now.  Thanks for the swift reply. Chris.
