  • Re: How do I change the "Drawing Origin Size" in Allegro 16x
Hey moderator, shaneer is a troll trying to sell something, NOT A  USER ASKING USER QUESTIONS.

  • Re: Through hole component with same pin location
I'd recommend adding a note to your fab dwg:  If multiple sizes: Hole counts on the drawing do not match the hole counts in the drill file.  If one size: Hole count on the drawing for 0.xxx hole does not match drill file.  Just a thought to possilbly keep the board house from calling.

Scott, I don't know how to change the size. You can, however,  change the color to enhance the symbol's visibility.  Just use the pull-down "Display" menu: Color/Visibility--->>>Drawing Format--->>>Drawing_Origin and choose a different color.

  • Re: Trim A Pad?
I'm curious as to what the pad shape is that you had to trim? Not terribly important but curious. I've spent a reasonable part of the last 18 years of my career dealing with power conversion electronics (150kW to 4MW) really high power stuff.  Because of the nature of the beast I too have had to deal with many oddball shapes for ...

  • Re: Trim A Pad?
David, a word of caution. If you do not create a padstack that meets your requirements, the next time Gerbers are generated you will have to hand-fix the problem again. When I was in charge of other designers making changes with a Gerber editor was expressly forbiden for this very reason. Your solution works for the short time, I agree, but for ...

  • Re: Why does 0603rf_wv_12d have two vias in it?
That is one strange footprint, but then all 4 of the SMT parts that start with xxxxRF_ are odd.  The vias are connected to the pads with traces.  I am guessing that the the "rf" part of the name is shorthand for REFERENCE.  My take is that the name decodes as a reference version (the rf) of an 0603 with vias (the wv) ...

  • Re: Dynamic shape with solid fill does not plot solid black
This post will not answer your question.  However, I do want you to know you are not alone with oddball plotting problems. I have had so many different little things not work properly that I now will only create Gerbers and them plot them. My favorite failure is turning on the primary side etch, looks right in preview, prints properly. ...

  • Re: How do I create a stack of vias
Sorry. I missed that you needed different drill sizes also.

  • Inserting Pictures into a Reply
I can't seem to paste images into my replies.  When I try the dialog box wants a location on the web for the picture.  Is there any other way to get an image into a post?

  • Re: How do I create a stack of vias
If I understand your goal then it is easy to achieve.  When you create a via padstack using the Pad Designer you can define the pad size for the top layer, the bottom layer, and the internal layers separately.
