  • Re: Why can't I login to this forum with IE?
Yes, cadence.com is screwed up - actually none of the forums allow login from my IE10. I have just spent a few more more hours of debugging and posted this issue on the feedback forum as well alongt with a pdf screenshot of several debugger script error problems.  See http://www.cadence.com/Community/forums/p/29024/1332917.aspx#1332917. I ...

  • Can't Login to Cadence forum site with IE
Just a repetitive problem I'm having.  My Win7 64-bit PC and IE10 will not let me log-in to the Cadence forum.  No errors, block notices or anything.  It just won't do it.  Log-in attempts spend a few secs "waiting circle" and then return me to the login screen.Chrome on the other hand has no problem currently ...

  • Re: Why can't I login to this forum with IE?
Thanks Bob. I started having this issue sometime last year with IE9, but after "upgrading" to 10, has gotten progressively worse. Have had to spend many hours debugging a few other sites as well.  Most problemsn have been due to some goof from the web developers using "out of date" coding, or "too new" coding ...

  • Re: OrCAD 16.6 for Circuit Design
Just to confuse everyone I think - just kidding.  Some history - -  Schematic capture/edit, simulation, pcb/physical design have historically always been done by separate "tools" sometimes integrated into a collective suite/or package.  Cadence is no different. Some years back OrCad was a separate company that has been ...

Basically: Yes - Capture is a schematic design entry tool. CIS refers to associated "parts database" access capabilities. Nice but not required. You just have to generate all your own parts symbols, which most often is required anyway. P-Spice is a very capable tool, so not sure what you mean by "any type". Regards,

  • Re: I Cannot see the thermal relief and antipad on my GND plane.
Maybe a dumb question but - - Do you have thermal display turned on? Setup>Design Parameters, Display tab check Thermal Pads. Also, not sure of your version, but thermals for negative planes used to have to be defined as flash symbols and NOT via the pad thermal dimension definitions.  Regards,

  • Re: A simple question about PCB antenna?
Oh, as a follow-up to your 2nd question.  At board layout level, you can just add shapes or cut-outs to the soldermask subclass where you don't want soldermask.  That class/layer is treated as a negative in artwork generation. Roger

  • Re: A simple question about PCB antenna?
Leeya, Hard to respond to basic all-encompassing questions like this! There's no such thing as an antenna "just being a trace" even when it is.  An antenna design is complex and coupled with lots of concerns relative to reference planes and such.  In the end, the geometries and layout of an antenna trace should be defined ...

  • Re: Problems logging into forum
Hi Tom, Yes - All the time!  Actually, replying to this post is the first time in a while I haven't had login difficulties.  I thought it was related to IE browser/security settings for a bit, but then had tried using Chrome and had the same issue. I also tried "resetting" my password, which changed it to something ...
