  • Measure DAC performance over corners
Hi,   I have a DAC design which I am currently testing and would like to be able to test over corners. My starting point is to measure the mononoticity of the design across corners. Does anybody know the best method to test a DAC design in such a manner?   For example, how could I set up my testbench so that I can run the ...

  • Re: Creating extracted netlists using script
Thanks Andrew,   Anything that saves time is definately worth a look. I'll investigate this further when I get a chance.   Regards

  • Re: Creating extracted netlists using script
Dear Jim,   Thanks kindly for your reply.   I managed to fix the problem and it was a rather silly mistake that I had made. My method was correct, however, in my haste to edit the switch list within my .cdsenv, I had actually editted the hspice switch list rather than the spectre switch list. Therefore, when running spectre, the ...

  • Creating extracted netlists using script
Hi,   I am trying to simulate my extracted views but am currently having some difficulty creating the actual netlists. I have a testbench, which instances the device under test. The testbench is a schematic view, whilst the device under test has both schematic and extracted views. I have added the extracted view onto the switch list ...

  • Common Mode Input Range - Using Ocean
This is relatively straight forward design question, so thanks to anyone who can help me.   I am trying to calculate the CMIR for an op amp. At present, I have set up a testbench, where I use the op amp as a unity gain buffer and then I sweep the V+ input from 0V -> Vdd. Because I have a unity gain buffer, I am calculating the ...

  • Re: Measuring transient currents using Ocean
Hi Lawrence,   Thanks very much for your prompt reply. I tried out what you suggested and it worked fine, so thanks for that. If I have time, I will try and understand what was going on there.   I will also take on board your suggestion regarding the iprobe cell. I think that is a good idea.   Thanks again!   coco009

  • Measuring transient currents using Ocean
Hi,   I have a small issue that I hope somebody would be able to help me with.   I am running transient sims on a current bias and sinking current through a 0V vdc cell. Using the ADE calculator, I can do the command: value( IT("/myVDC/PLUS") myTime). This gives me the value of the current at a specified time at the PLUS ...

  • Re: Ocean: Save waveforms to .png
Hi again,   Following on from my previous post, I have actually found that all I have to do is drop the .cdsplotinit file into my home directory and that works fine in that I am no longer warned that the file cant be found and it loads the one in my home directory.   The problem now is that although the printing to file appears to ...

  • Re: Ocean: Save waveforms to .png
Dear Samir,   Thanks for your very prompt reply. I knew it had to be something simple. I currently cant get it quite to work though, as I dont appear to have .cdsplotinit file. I have copied a sample file into the same locations as my .cdsinit file, but when plotting, I keep getting the error that there were no .cdsplotinit files ...
