  • Re: symbol to layout conversion
Following from what Ted said, and to answer your question, you cannot go directly from a symbol cellview to a layout cellview to my knowledge.  You could try opening the symbol and using Create -> Cellview -> From cellview to create a schematic cellview type; this will only have the pins in it - instances etc. will need to be added ...

Hi, Try this example instead: lb = hiCreateListBoxField(?name 'CCStest ?prompt "Select directories" ?choices setof(obj getDirFiles(".") isDir(obj)) ?multipleSelect t) => listBStruct@0x233fb578 fm = hiCreateAppForm(?name 'CCStestForm ?formTitle "Multiple dir select" ?fields list(list(lb ...

  • Re: symbol to layout conversion
Hi, I think the problem is in your understanding of the different cellviews and how they are used.  The symbol view and schematic views are different entities and have a different database type (for example the symbol cellview database type is schematicSymbol and the schematic cellview database type is schematic) and different content. The ...

  • Re: How to execute a skill script at command line
Hi Harish, SKILL can only be executed or run in an executable that has a SKILL interpreter built into it.  From the command line you can use skill for programs that only use core-SKILL functions, dbAccess for those that need to interact with the database, and virtuoso -nograph for all other programs.  Since you mention ...

  • Re: How to append a label on a rectangle created by dbCreateRect()
Hi Desmond, Add a call to leAttachFig() with the label and rectangle shape database ID's and this will make the label a child of the rectangle. I'm assuming that you are doing this in a layout. Alternatively you should be able to directly update or modify the parent attribute of the parent object's database ID, adding the child ID in ...

  • Re: Reading PCell Properties/Parameters using SKILL
Hi, I'm still a bit confused - in one sentence you say that the PCell instantiates an nfet, and then in another you say that the nfet cell is a PCell (and both of these could be true, since a PCell can contain an instance of another PCell...). Never mind though, it should not matter too much.  Your code might look something like ...

  • Re: Reading PCell Properties/Parameters using SKILL
Hi there, The commands that you list would most likely be used with a graphical PCell rather than a SKILL PCell. I'm a little confused by your question, is the PCell an nfet itself, or does it instantiate an instance of an nfet inside the PCell?  Also, the terminals (G, D, S, B) are not parameters; these will be physical shapes ...

  • Re: How to do a plot in Cadence?
Hi Alex, You would check $LD_LIBRARY_PATH using something like 'echo' typically - 'which' is for things on your executable path.  I would expect to see another entry in addition to the MMSIM entry; i.e. one for your Virtuoso installation.  Typically there are tool wrappers that take care of setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH, ...

  • Re: How to do a plot in Cadence?
Hi Alex, perhaps your LD_LIBRARY_PATH is not set or it is set incorrectly?   You should have the <install_dir>/tools/lib in your LD_LIBRARY_PATH.  If that all looks correct, check that the OS supports what you are trying to run: checkSysConf from the command line with the argument IC5.1 Best regards, Lawrence.

  • Re: Creating ModGens
Hi, Modgens are specified by several constraints, and then these constraints, grouped as a Modgen, are implemented in the layout by VLS-XL actions such as Generate All From Source.  The ciCreateModgen() function that Andrew mentioned (and others) exist in the IC616 and ICADV121 releases, but not in IC615, so hopefully you are using the more ...
