  • EndOfLine Violations
Hi,    I am working with a set of standard cells that I created myself and am in the process of testing them. When I run verifyGeometry I get EndOf Line violations. A sample is pasted below: EndOfLine: Blockage of Cell core/FE_OFC1095_OP2_0_ & Blockage of Cell core/rf/g34830  ( M1 ) Bounds : ( 196.355, 476.000 ) ( 196.455, ...

  • Re: About timing and slack
Hi VKhlyupin,  Thanks for your response. The root cause of this issue lay in incorrectly set timing constraints during synthesis. Once I corrected those, the resulting SDC from RTL compiler passed the correct path constraints to Encounter. The message about the  worst slack also disappeared. Your points are well taken ...

  • About timing and slack
Hi,   I am using EDI 10.12.002 to implement a processor design. I have my own library of logic cells which I mix with certain sequential cells, buffers and inverters of a vendor library. The geometric aspects and characterization conditions for the custom library cells match that of vendor librar but there are some differences in that ...

  • Re: Using dbTransformBBox
Thanks Andrew. Your tips helped a lot. I have some issues with my machine right now and haven't been able to check out these commands, but I deinitely will when I have the chance.   Kasyab

  • Re: Using dbTransformBBox
Ted,Derek, Andrew,   Thank you all for your inputs. In the end what worked best for me was Andrew's solution since I needed  "scaling" and not "sizing". I am still confused about how sizing occurs and would like to understand it better. Could you tell me where to look for detailed documentation on sizing? ...

  • Re: Using dbTransformBBox
Hi Derek, I just typed that up quickly and used the first function that came to mind and not be ing well versed with SKILL, it wasn't the best. That said, your point is well taken since performance will be an issue for me since I have  to run these transformations on about 200 cells. Your comment about dbTransformBBox is interesting ...

  • Re: Using dbTransformBBox
Hi Ted, Thanks for the pointers. They work with the minor correction that dbLayerSize also needs the layer name on which to output the new shapes. So   newShapeList = dbLayerSize( cv_lay list(car(OD_shape_list)) .05) becomes newShapeList = dbLayerSize( cv_lay "OD" list(car(OD_shape_list)) .05)   What is confusing for ...

  • Using dbTransformBBox
Hi, I am a relatively new user of SKILL. My problem is with the use of dBTransformBBox function. I am able to apply this function to scale the size of objects which are uniquely represented in bounding box fashion("rect" objects). My question is if this function is applicable to polygons as well.  Specifically when I apply  ...

  • Rail analysis
Hi,   I am trying to set up rail analysis under different conditions (min, max, different levels of activity etc.). In order to be able to analyze results at a later time I would like to utilize a separate state directory each time I run RA. I could not find any switch to go with the set_rail_analysis_mode command to enable this. I see a ...

  • relative placement with macros
Hi,   I am trying to place a design with some macros and I use relative placement for these. Since the design is fairly large and only one (shared) 4 core machine is available I try not to use the GUI to do this. In my script file to carry out the relative placement I perform the following steps: 1) Adjust the floorplan with the floorPlan ...
