    Want to change D2PAK footprint with TO263-3 on Orcad/Allegro PCB Editor Reply
    I have a PCB *.BRD file. No schematic no netlist. On board 03 D2PAK footprint placed U28, U29, U30. I want to replace a only U29 footprint D2PAK with To263-3. Any body know the procedure to replace the footprint without schematic and netlist.

    You could probably:

    1. Create new footprint

    2. Export netlist from existing board

    3. Edit netlist so that symbol/device name matches your new part for U29

    4. Correct netlist so the connections matches new part

    5. Import that netlist

    6. Place that symbol

    Thanks for reply. I export netlist change the required changes import the netlist through File>Import>Logic>Others but it shows many errors and nothing happen

    You probably need to export the library files from the board since you probably don't have the device files.

    File/export/Libraries

    Export to path you are set up to.

    Oh and you will need to make the device file for the new part if you have not already.

    Yes you reach the point I dont have device file. How I can generate it.

    To get the device files for the existing board you just need to export the way I mentioned above.

    For the new one you can open the footprint then file/create device should work.
