    Ok, (my last post got lost)

    As promised, attached is the utility. Thanks to those who provided input and feedback - especially Marathon.

    ;  Installation instructions:
    ;
    ; Install findDoubleHitHoles_public.il into your skill folder.
    ; Add load("findDoubleHitHoles_public.il") to the allegro.ilinit file in your pcbenv folder.
    ;
    ;  Running within Allegro:
    ; Type "find double hits" (without the speech marks) in the command window.

    As always, feedback is welcome.

    Regards, Dave

    Hi, Please try the attached context file. Place it in your Skill path and add the following lines in your allegro.ilinit file: loadContext("findDoubleHitHoles_public.cxt") axlCmdRegister("find double hits" 'FDH_findDoubleHitHoles) Type "find double hits" in the console window to run it. Please let me know if you have any problems. Cheers, Dave

    It should work. Try putting the context file in your working folder. and typing the following command in your console window: skill loadContext("findDoubleHitHoles_public.cxt") axlCmdRegister("find double hits" 'FDH_findDoubleHitHoles)

    Dave,

    What would you recommend for duplicate pins? We have many designs where we need to have overlapping components for alternate population options (for example one build will use heatsink A and another build will use heatsink B and both heatsinks must be placed in the same XY location in Allegro) which mean overlapping through hole pins which we also need to "remove". So far we have modified your findDoubleHitHoles_public.il code to replace one of the duplicate pins by a "null padstack" (padstack with no drill or shapes) but was wondering if you or anyone else had a better idea on how to deal with this issue? Delete the pins? Move the pins

    Thanks,

    Olivier

    Hi Olivier,

    I can't think of a better way than the method you are using. An alternative is to waive the drc and notify your fabricator.

    Cheers,

     Thanks Dave. Yes that's what we've been doing until now. Waive the DRCs and get the fab shop to remove the duplicate holes.

    Hi Dave,

    thanks for this utility!  A delete option would be nice to have :)

    Some issues:

    - the 'external DRC' buttons are not enabled, but the external DRCs are generated.

    - When I click on the 'X' of the form Allegro crashes.  (16.6.S029). This happens everytime.

    The exit button works fine though.

    I've also tried the normal .il file and the context file, both generate the same crash.

    Try the attached... (16.6 only)

    Use  loadContext to load the file and register the command using axlCmdRegister("find double hits" 'FDH_findDoubleHitHoles)
