Gerber Compare in Orcad PCB Designer Reply

    Hi all,

Is there an equivalent to GerbTool in orcad layout which i can use in Orcad PCB Designer?

I want to compare gerber changes between revisions.

    Thanks,

    Nigel

No but you can import gerber into PCB Editor if it has been created by PCB Editor. Create a new blank board and use File - Import - Artwork.

You can also use "other" tools like GC-Prevue or if you still have a license for GerbTool use that.

There is also a new export from PCB Editor called IPC2581 which has the ability to be exported and imported and "compared" to a design. Hopefully going forward this could be the new starndard for manufacuring output. A single xml file that contains all tne neccessary data for manufacture. Take a look at ipc2581.com
