delay of the get_next_item method Reply

     Hi all

I have some question regarding the delay of get_next_item method.

Is there an option to get result from get_next_item in "zero time" (no delay at all).

i have noticed that this method have an half cycle delay , is it all right ?

    thanks in advance.

    Moris.

You didn't tell us what "get_next_item" method you are calling. Is it a UVM call? If so, there are usually matching calls with names like "try_" or "peek_" that will let you see if an item is available or not and return imediately. A UVM get_next_item call will wait until the next item is available and then return. So it might wait a half-cycle or 1000's of cycles depending on how the model responds.
