    Generating a BOM Reply
    Has anyone generated a BOM from OrCAD like this?  I use version 16.5 here.  I get close with variant report but I am not there yet.  Any suggestions would be very welcome.

    Assuming that you have the required fields and values attached to the schematic parts, a regular Capture BOM, Tools>Bill of Materials with the DSN file selected in the Project Manager window and the following for the Header and Combined Property String should get the job done:

    Quantity#Part Reference#PART_NUMBER#VARIANT#LAYER

    {Quantity}#{Reference}#{Part_Number}#{Variant}#{Layer}

    Re: Generating a BOM Reply
    I need to understand a couple of things.  Do I need to create the layer and variant fields on all my symbols?  I have my variants setup in part manager.  Will this automatically populate the variant field?  How do I get the layer field populated from the layout?
