Padstack layers connected - not sure why Reply
I opened soic8 and changed the colors for Top Pin and Top Etch. The color on the footprint is that of Top Pin, but when I deselect Top Pin it also deselects Top Etch, even though they have separate colors.

It makes sense to me that Top Pin and Top Etch would be connected (as being the top copper pad) but I must not understand something about the Pad Stackup and/or the Class system for PCB Editor - I thought these items wouldn't be connected in this way. I checked the padstack used in the soic8, and it is marked as "Single Layer" - is that why they're connected?

     Thanks all!
