Launching CIS taking up a Layout Seat Reply

I am unable to launch CIS independently.  By opening CIS I am taking up a layout seat too.  Any ideas as to what is going on?

It looks like you have a default license option set to checkout a Capture CIS Option license and a PCB Designer license and this license combination is not available. Trying to check out an alternative suite may allow you check out a license, or no licenses may be available to check out to start Capture CIS. The Capture CIS Option feature is a license to enable a regular Capture license to have the Capture CIS capabilities, this will need a Capture license from OrCAD Capture, or a suite that provides a Capture license, like a PCB Designer suite, or a PSpice EE license, if you don't have a Capture license available Capture CIS won't be able to start. Looking at the license debug.log on the machine running the license manager will also provide some indication of the license manager response to the client license request.

If you have purchased your OrCad tool as a suite, then only one person can check this suite out at a time.

Example: If you have PO3010  OrCAD(R) PCB Designer Professional which has the CIS option, when you open up OrCad Capture it also check out the OrCad layout license and vice a verse.

The correct way to open a suite and to only consume one license; is to first open OrCad Capture and then open OrCad layout.

If you close down OrCad Capture and have left OrCad layout open, and then latter try to open OrCad Capture you will consume another license for this second instance of the OrCad Capture.
