    Copy selected set to a new layout Reply

     This seems like it should be an easy thing to do but so far I don't see an easy solution.  Starting with a selected set of geometries, I want to copy them to a new layout that is open in another window.  What are the steps?

    Do you looking for manual way or automated way?

    Since is user interactive (with selected object, and another window open), i assume you're referring to manual way. Just hit "c" bindkey for copy, click on the origin point to copy, then just drag to the new window and click to paste it. That's it.

    I have no trouble doing it manually.  I need to know the steps and SKILL functions needed to do it automatically.  I would like to have the new file open in a new tab rather than a new window if possible but would be able to live with a new window.  I don't need a lot of help - just a list of steps and SKILL functions that implement them.

    destCvId = dbOpenCellViewByType("libName" "cellName" "viewName" nil "a")

    foreach(fig selectedSet()
        dbCopyFig(fig destCvId)

    dbCopyFig(
    d_fig
    d_cellView
    [ l_transform ]
    )
    => d_fig / nil

    Copies and transforms a figure and places it in a cellview.
