Programming PROM 27C512 in Orcad Capture Reply

I am facing a problem in programming the PROM in Orcad Capture (Cadence 16.3). Can anyone help me regarding how to generate an Intel hex file for PROM ?

and also with the procedure to link the hex file to my design?

    Regards

    Srimanth.

I gues you really mean PSpice and Capture since Capture has little use for a HEX file definition.

The Intel HEX format would be useful if you had a file generated from a compiler, or code generator. Since this is not the case you are probably better off using the "DATA=" format, rather than generate the data in a unknown format and then try to link it up. See the example at page 382 of the pspcref.pdf, doc\pspcref of the installation to assist with generating the model definition, then use the Model Editor to create the graphical part.

That was really helpful. But, can you suggest me any compiler or code generator software through which I can generate a HEX file for this purpose? Regards Srimanth

This is the format that you need: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_HEX The 8-bit format is what PSpice is expecting. You must have a reason for wanting to set the contents of the UROM model so that is likely where you code will come from.
