    Cline End Reply

    Hi all,

I need to add a line wich has no rounded end to my PCB. Is there any option to select between rounded and not rounded end, when you drop you left mouse button after drawing the track ?

Many thanks for your help and kind regards !

There is an option to have this on or off but not on a cline by cline basis. The options is under Setup - Design Parameters - Display Tab and it's called connect line endcaps. If you only need it on a specific line the I would recommend drawing it as a shape on the relevant etch layer. You will be able to control the shape to suit what you need.

After some more thought (and a discussion with a good colleague of mine(you know who you are...) on this these settings are only for the display. When the artwork is made the tracks are drawn using a round shape hence:-

This is how artwork does it and since it’s a round aperture you get round encaps… %ADD10C,.005*%  (Aperture D10 is a 5 mil CIRCULAR opening)

...%LPD*%             (indicates the data is dark)

    G75*                   G54D10*             (Select D10 aperture)

G01X926899Y1613389D02* (Go to XY location in your drawing 9268.99 16133.89 with the pen up – not exposing the film)X929540Y1616030D01*  (Draw a line to XY location 9295.40 16160.03 in your drawing)

Thank you, Steve for your explanations.

The display setting is already handy to connect line between each others.

Are these instructions directly typed in thecommand line panel ?

The commads that Steve had shown above are taken from a raster artwork record.
If you create artwork for a layer and then open the resultant data in a text editor you would see the commands referenced by Steve as well as a host of others.
