    Setting up Corners Analysis pcf dcf files Reply

     Hi,

     Does anyone know how to setup the Corner Analysis Tool.

     I would like to know how to add in a process and different corners as currently nothing appears.

     I am using the process tsmcN90rf

    Which version of the tools (Help->About in the CIW) and which version of the PDK are you using?

     5.10.41_USR5.90.69 is the Corner Tool

     

    TSMC N90 PDK V1.0. If that the correct pdk info?

    That sounds as if it is quite an old version of the PDK. In a more recent version, in the root of the PDK there's a models/spectre directory which contains a file tsmcN90rf.pcf which can be read into the corners tool to set up the corners. You can also use the loadPcf() function to load this from SKILL. In the 1.0 version of the PDK (if it's the same process option you're using), there's no pcf file though - but as I said, that's rather old (the dates on the files are all from 2005).

    The right thing to do however is to consult any documentation for the PDK, or if not there, to ask TSMC themselves.

    Either define the corners  yourself in the corners tool (it's not difficult), or contact the supplier of the PDK!

    Found the .pcf file in my PDK.

    What do the .dcf files do? Do they require loading also?

     Also is there a way to read the values from the corners simulations out into a .csv file or equivalent?

    A dcf is a Design corner file, whereas a pcf is a Process corner file. In reality the contents are the same - but if a pcf file is loaded, you can't change it, but anything loaded from a dcf file is editable.

    In IC5141 you can Print the measurements, and then do Window->Print and save to a file. It's not CSV, but it's something you could hack into CSV.

    In ADE XL in IC61X, you can certainly export to CSV or HTML.
