    Why boundary_opto cause to LEC fail? Reply

    1. RC version is 10.1, CONFORMAL version is 91.400

     -- In order to reduce design area, I turned on boundary_opto in RC flow and then LEC failed.

     -- Same design,  almost the same script, turned off boundary_opto, LEC can pass

    2. RC version is 91.102, CONFORMAL version is 91.400

     -- almost the same design, same script, both turn-on and turn-off boundary_opto can pass LEC

     

    I don't know what happened.

    Boundary optimization by RC can include constants moving across a module boundary and rewiring equivalent or inverted equivalent signals (according to the RC users guide).

    Either RC did this incorrectly or LEC had trouble understanding the problem.

    Since the problem occurred with only when RC boundary_opto was enabled maybe a flat LEC compare would give better results (if you ran hier first).
