    Ok. The quick answer is that the code doesn't handle text on the Outline layer if that's included in the layers to check.

    Presumable you have text in a title block?

    I'll need to review the code to handle this. In the meantime, try moving the text to a user-defined layer and add that layer to your artwork.

    If you don't have text on the Outline layer, please let me know what IS there.

    Dave,

     

    No text on Board geometry outline.

    I used the axlSetFindFilter and enabled all and used only board geometry/outline.

    By addSelectAll() verified, only dbid returned and that’s for shapes.

    I have only shapes on board geometry/outline layer which is included in silk artwork causing error.

    I have no text on Board Geometry/ Outline.

    Hi Dave,

    I saw this post and I tried using your skill.  It seems that I can get the file to load, but can't get it to run.  Am I missing a step somewhere?  I've attached the image of the command line.  I can run other skill files just fine also.

     I am on 16.3

    Please advise at your convenience. 

    I like to add that version 8.24  I found on an older post is working.

    Hi,

    I downloaded the skill script copied to project folder.

    Running script using below command

    skill load "autosilkUtils.il "

    enter

    script is running but i am not finding any difference in silk arrangement.

     Please let me know whether steps i have followed is correct.

    Read the instructions in the header of the file. You will need to do more than just loading the file.

    You are correct. Iinstructions are not in the header.

     Place the context file in your skill folder.

    Add loadContext("AutosilkUtils_public16.5.cxt") to the allegro.ilinit file in your pcbenv folder.

    Add axlCmdRegister("silkutils" 'ASU_start ?cmdType "interactive") to the allegro.ilinit file.

    Run  "silkutils" on the Allegro command line.

    But i am not finding any allegro.ilinit file in my pcbenv.

    Also you have mentioned toPlace the context file in skill folder. Is this project folder location or skill folder located in C:\Cadence\SPB_16.3\tools.

    OK.

    Firstly, use the attached code for 16.3.

    Unzip it and place it in the  skill folder underneath the folder defined by your allegro_site environment variable. (You may need to create the folder).

    Create the allegro.ilinit file (in the same folder) if it doesn't exist.

    Add the two lines:

    load("AutosilkUtils_public.il")

    axlCmdRegister("silkutils" 'ASU_start ?cmdType "interactive")

    autosilkUtils_public.zip

    As per your advice i created folder as shown below in C drive, Created allegro.ilinit & placed skill file with in that

    C:\Cadence\SPB_16.3\allegro_site environment variable\autosilkUtils_public

    After this i loaded script in allegro

    still not able to progress further....

    The allegor_site variable is a Windows environment variable. You might like to refer to your Cadence installation notes.

    Dave, which version is the latest and should be used with 16.6? The 16.5 version above is just a CXT file so I can't see a changelog/header. Thanks for your hard work in, and support of, this community!
