Problem with tran.tran file size Reply

    Hello All,

I am running an APS simulation.

Every time when the tran.tran file size is more than 2GB, the tool automatically splits it up into many files, each with a maximum file size of 2GB.

However, when I choose "tran->compression=yes", it doesn't split up anymore, but, it stops when the file size is 2GB.

I would like to know why it stops.

    Thanks in advance!

It stops because 2 GB is the maximum file size on 32-bit Linux (see for example http://linuxmafia.com/faq/VALinux-kb/2gb-filesize-limit.html).

    Thanks for your reply, Frank!

As I have chosen compression=yes, the file doesn't split up anymore once the file size reaches 2 GB
