    I want to give cutout in pcb but i don't know.

    which are the steps to give cutout?

     Hi,

    Your question is incomplete . what type  of cut out u want ? where u want ?

        > You can create NPTH slots , holes ...of required dimension in padstack  & create footprint for the same , then you can manually place that part in board where u want the cut out, it will reflect in your .drl or .rou file during drill file generation.

       > If it is a irregular shape cut out manually draw it using suitable class & provide the information about this cut out  in drill drawing artwork.Put all type keepout in the cut out region to avoid copper falling in this region [rout keepout /all. package keepout/all, viakeepout/all]

      >If the cut outs are at the board edge controll it by board outline .

     Not sure whether above line may help you requirement

    I want to give cut out on edge for irregular pcb shape and i want to know how pcb shape can be made and which are the steps?

    Its difficult to explain the steps  for irregular shape outline .

    • Add line ,Arc W/Radius,3pt arc rectangle  e.t.c under Board Geometry /outline class  . look in to the different controls available  under option tab
    • Easy method :Irregular shape sounds like  you are making PCB for enclosure ,if yes get the DXF [2D] files from MCAD team &  import it under BG/Outline class .

    You can use two options to get the irregular shape outline

    • Manufacture->Drafting->create detail – use option tab to feed in the values and layer. you need to delete the multiple lines created inside the shape
    • Shape->Decompose shape to break the shape into lines.  And again you can do shape->compose shape and select the complete shape, in the option tab you can select the class/subclass, and the Line intersection requirement.
