Mentor Import: From what product? Reply

Next question: I have a design made using Mentor Expedition (EE7.x) that I want to import to my Allegro installation.

From what I can see, the Import tool in Allegro is from Mentor Board Station (nets.nets, comps.comps, (etc)).

Which means: Not to be used with Expedition...

But if I am wrong, then do I need to do an ASCII-Out in order to proceed? (I do not want to reinstall

the EE7.x software, and I do not know if this procedure is included with Expedition)

You are correct, Allegro 16.5 can import Mentor Boardstation or PADS but not Expedition. You would need to talk to a third party translation company to get an Expedition file into Allegro.

Starting with PADS9.3 there is an option to import Expedition PCB files into PADS Layout, from which you can export the PADS data that Allegro can import
