    Orcad quits unexpectedly Reply

Hi - after years of no trouble running OrCAD it suddenly won't start on my XP machine.  In the 16.2 version it pops up "The application has quit unexpectedly".  I've tried all the tricks I know (reinstall, reload graphics drivers, snip the .ini files) -- can't figure this one out.

    Anyone have a suggestion?

    Thanks

Try removing the CaptureWorkspace settings from the Registry. Remove any Capture.exe entries from Task Manager Processes, then Start>Run, regedit In regedit locate the follwoing entry:

    HEKY_CURRENT_USER\Software\OrCAD\CaptureWorkspace

Select the 16.2.0 key and the delete the key and all subkeys. Then see if Capture will start.

None of those suggestions worked.  Something else was causing OrCAD+Allegro to crash.  I eventually had to reinstall Windows!!  Never did find out the cause.
