    How to bring a dxDesigner netlist into PCB Editor Reply

    Hi All,

    i have created a new board in PCB Editor (v 16.3) and cannot see how to load in my netlist (please note i have never done any PCB layout before), can somone please tell me how to do this? My netlist is a .tel file if that helps.

    File - Import - Logic. Go to the Other tab and then browse for your file. You may need to check a few of the options. Try the Help button on the import menu for more info.

     Just make sure you have DxDesigner configured to output an Allegro style netlist format (known as a TELESIS format).  I have never created a netlist from DxDesigner to Allegro but a quick google search indicates it's possible :)


    Once you have it then the previous poster's reply works.  You will need to have the symbols prepared for Allegro as well.  There is a document from Cadence that covers how to import a netlist that's in the Allegro docs.

    When I try to import the telesis netlist I get an error saying I 

    ERROR(SPMHNI-67): Cannot find device file for '415-00074'.
