    Delete, out of date shape Reply

    Hello, new user, learning, currently running OrCAD PCB Designer 16.2.  I am trying to create the artwork of a test PCB, message is Dynamic shapes need updating.

    Goto View Status, Out of date shapes 1/22.

    Dynamic shapes state:

    Dynamic shapes out of date: 1 out of 22
    Current fill mode                : SMOOTH

    Layer = TOP
       State: No Etch      Point on shape: (6920.00 10910.00)  Net: +17.5VDC

    How can I delete this shape if there is no etch or outline (highlight) of this shape visible in the top layer etch?

    Thank you, Rolf

    Rather than delete the shape try updating it. Yse Display - Status and update to smooth to bring the shape back up to date. If you really want to delete it go to the color visibility command and under the stackup options there is a boundary layer. Turn it on for the TOP layer and you will see the outline of the shape you want to delete. Hover over it  - RMB delete.

    Thank you Steve,

     I have tried to update the shape previously, I receive the message

     "1 dynamic shape is still out of date or empty.  Run Out of date shapes Report from status dialog to identify them."

    That is where I obtained the info for the location and what net the shape is attached to, listed in the previous post.

    I did go to the Color Dialog, global visibility, now I can see an outline of the shape.  However it will not highlight while hovering over it.  There is no etch associated with the shape.

    OK Try Edit - Delete, ensure shapes are selected in the find filter (fold out menu) and select the boundary to delete it.

    Thank you, Steve,  I feel a relief of the pain (banging my head on the padded cubicle wall)
