    How to create shielded path? Reply

    Hi,

     I have written the following code for creating a shielded path. The below mentioned code is having a fix set of coordinates: i.e.  "pts". How to add the functionality that a user can draw shield where ever he feels like:

    ;; Create a shielded path
    procedure( shield()
    errset(
    (let (cv layer purpose list_draw_layer tech width1 tfId)
    cv= geGetEditCellView()
    layer = car(leGetEntryLayer()) ;displays layer on LSW is taken
    purpose = cadr(leGetEntryLayer()); displays drawing or pin on the selected lsw
    list_draw_layer =list(layer purpose)
    tech = techGetTechFile(geGetWindowCellView()); rule deck file id is stored in tech
    width1 = techGetSpacingRule(tech "minWidth" layer) ; the minimum width is stored in width1
    rodCreatePath(
    ?name "shield"
    ?layer list( layer purpose )
    ?pts list(2:-15 2:-5 15:-5 15:-15)   If this is not fixed, the user can draw shield anywhere. What changes are needed?
    ?width .8
    ?justification "center"
    ?cvId cv
    ?offsetSubPath
    list(
    list(
    ?layer list( layer purpose )
    ?justification "left"
    ?sep 1
    ?width .4
    ) ;end of offset sublist1
    list(
    ?layer list( layer purpose )
    ?justification "right"
    ?sep 1
    ?width .4
    ) ;end of offset sublist2
    ) ;end of offset list of lists
    ) ;end of rodCreatePath
    ) ; end of let
    t
    ) ; end of errset
    ) ; end of procedure

     You need to use the entry function enterPath. A very good example is found in the Virtuoso Relative Object Design User Guide of exactly what you want. See the Cadence documentation for this document.

    Hi,

    I got the code modified by skill genious :)

    ;; Create a shielded path
    procedure( Shield(win done pts)
      errset(
       (let (cv layer purpose list_draw_layer tech width1 tfId)

          unless( done printf("Finished!") )

          cv = geGetEditCellView()
          layer = car(leGetEntryLayer()) ;displays layer on LSW is taken
          purpose = cadr(leGetEntryLayer()); displays drawing or pin on the selected lsw
          list_draw_layer =list(layer purpose)
          tech = techGetTechFile(geGetWindowCellView())
             ; rule deck file id is stored in tech
          width1 = techGetSpacingRule(tech "minWidth" layer)
             ; the minimum width is stored in width1

          rodCreatePath(

             ?layer list( layer purpose )

             ?pts foreach(   mapcar point pts
                    geWindowToEditPoint(hiGetCurrentWindow() point)   )

             ?width .8
             ?justification "center"
             ?cvId cv
             ?offsetSubPath
             list(
    list(
                  ?layer list( layer purpose )
                  ?justification "left"
                  ?sep 1
                  ?width .4
               ) ;end of offset sublist1
               list(
                  ?layer list( layer purpose )
                  ?justification "right"
                  ?sep 1
                  ?width .4
               ) ;end of offset sublist2
             ) ;end of offset list of lists
          ) ;end of rodCreatePath
       ) ; end of let
      t
      ) ; end of errset
    ) ; end of procedure

    Now, if i want the user to specify the width and the spacing through form, how can I pass the value to sep and width over here? Can you please help.

    Regards,

    Manu

    Thanks Andrew. I didnt see it over there. I got your answer: "You can specify an options form to be associated with the enterPath() function, so that the width/spacing info can be entered on the associated form (toggle-able with F3). See the ?form argument for enterPath in the documentation." Will start working on it. Thanks again !!

    Hi,

    Sorry if I have already pointed you to this code, but I think that it contains all that you need

     How can I created slotted metal paths?

    You will see in this code that there is use of the enterPath function, as well as an options form (CCSslotMetalForm) for the command ("CCSslotMetal" in this case), and the width value on the form is passed to the enter function and ultimately the underlying command that calls rodCreatePath(), which is CCSslotMetalCB(), the callback function that actually does the work.

    The code is somewhat lengthy and is probably best not just pasted here, so please take a look at the above Solution link, or just the code at: CCSslotMetal.il

    Best regards,

    Lawrence.

    Re: How to create shielded path?(coaxial shielding) Reply

     Hi ,

    I just used used your techinque to generate a single layer shield path.It is working fine.But I also want to go for coaxial shielding for metal2 onward . I want the code such that depending on selected layer ,it should overlap the shield path with higher metal layer with concerned vias, and similarly with bottom metal layer.So can you help me how to proceed .

    Regards,

    Infy
