    16.2 Cadence Allegro Free Viewer for .mcm's and .sips now available Reply

    The 16.2 Allegro Free Viewer has been split into two executables --  one for boards, and one for packages (.mcm/.sip)

    Both are now available as one install at

    http://www.cadence.com/products/pcb/pages/Downloads.aspx

    Hi Bill, I get the following error when i try to download the Allegro Free Physical Viewer 16.3. This webpage is not found. No webpage was found for the web address: ftp://orcad_sp:cdn99ORs@ftp.cadence.com/files/allegro/allegroviewers/files/allegro_free_viewer_16-3.exe I have been trying to download it for several days but have been seeing the same error. Can you provide me a link so that i could download it. Regards, Vernon

    http://www.cadence.com/community/forums/T/14819.aspx   has the correct link, and still appears to work. 

    I am not sure where your ftp link is pointing to.

    Yeah, this clearly is not available. As others have noted on this post, THE LINK(S) DO NOT WORK. Here is the error, found using multiple browsers, trying for several days, following the links in this post, etc. None of them work. You can get to the page where you click on the link to download it, but then you get this: --------------------------------- This webpage is not found. No webpage was found for the web address: ftp://orcad_sp:cdn99ORs@ftp.cadence.com/files/allegro/allegroviewers/files/allegro_free_viewer_16-3.exe More information on this error Below is the original error message Error 6 (net::ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND): The file or directory could not be found. --------------------------------- Same error in Firefox, just different formatting. If anyone finds a workaround or a link that actually works, please post it. If you claim it works, try downloading it and see for sure. If it does, post the link to the actual download (ftp), not the http site!

    I just downloaded the 16.3 install to my desktop using Firefix following the links that I provided, but of course, I am inside the Cadence network. I will try again tonight from home.

    Are you actualy navigating to the link, or just directly trying to ftp it with the link you provided?

    If I try the ftp portion of your link, and authenticate with my credentials, I get a 550 error:

    550 /home/xxxxx/files/allegro/allegroviewers/files/allegro_free_viewer_16-3.exe: No such file or directory

    Hi all, Thanks for the quick responses. I got it to download. I think it ended up being a browser privacy setting issue (private browsing or incognito mode?). Not fully sure, but that's my guess. So end result is user error I suppose :(

    I am unable to download the Free viewer. I tried with IE-8 and Chrome. I can get as far as the final download link which points to an FTP address. It does not connect.

    When I try this FTP address in an FTP client, it authenticates OK then gets an empty directory listing.
