Code coverage is an effective tool in the
verification process, giving insights into testing completeness as well as
identifying highly active or inactive areas of a design. Collecting code
coverage in simulation on large designs can be a very time-consuming process.
Code coverage can be collected at emulation speeds in the Palladium XP system.
The Accelerating Code Coverage Rapid Adoption
Kit (RAK) defines which types of code coverage can be accelerated and how to
enable and configure code coverage generation with Palladium XP Series. We have
also included a short demo this time on accelerated code coverage, assertions,
and functional coverage with covergroups.
Coverage scores can be viewed and analyzed with
the Incisive Metrics Center (IMC) or Enterprise Manager tools. These tools also
provide the ability to merge multiple UniCov databases together. This RAK has
introduced the reader to the basics of compiling and generating code coverage
with the Palladium XP system.
